Education is Stiffling Creativity
Lately I have been going onto the TED website and watching some of the videos they have on there. TED conferences happen all around the world and are meant to inspire thought and innovation in which ever field is being discussed by that current speaker. I found this one that I wanted to post because it stuck a special chord within me.
As an artist and designer i am glad that I was too stubborn to just plod along into whatever career path I would have come across and certainly I would have been unhappy doing so. This is not to say that those friends of mine in other areas have done this however I do know a few people that have forgone their natural talents to follow what would be considered a social norm. I was never the best student in high school and the reasons, i have come to find out, were that I had no interest and talent in what they were putting emphasis on and the teaching style did not suit my learning style. turns out despite that I figured it out and I think i will be ok. Anyway, check out this video I thought it was great.
